I want to share my new wallpapers with you...
A couple weeks back one of my trusty 17" TFTs finally broke down completely. It was a slow process until eventually it stayed black for good. So I knew for quite a while that I had to invest in some new displays sometime this year.
I settled with two LG W2361V 23" and I am very pleased so far.
This weekend I finally found the time to create some proper wallpapers.
They are 3840px*1080px
I'm using PearlMountain Software's "WallpaperSlideShow" to display my wallpapers. Very handy tool.
Interstate '76
the picture with the Piranha and Jade is from the internet. I remember that I already had it as a wallpaper back in the good old I'76 days. I am especially happy to be able to bring this image back as my wallpaper in 2010!
- copy/pasted and cloned the background so it would fit to this very wide resolution.
- lowered the horizon to fit the aspect ratio
- added several layers of dust
- added logo that I vectorized a while back.
- added a gradient to convey some atmospheric perspective
- added a gradient to convey some sunlight
- added anamorphic lens flare
- added lens dust
- levels, HSL, Photofilter magic
The DeLorean is just awesome!
This is a humble tribute to one of the most iconic cars of all time.
- Pretty much the same post treatment as in I'76
Note to self:
Effects and postprocessing are key.
Notice how both images are actually very simple but the VFX really makes them shine!
